Andrew Bobby passed away after a battle with Parkinson's just short of his 94th birthday. He was born in Clifton, NJ, the youngest of 5 children to Julia Simchek and Andrew Bobby. Preceded in death by Mary, Anne, Johnny and Helen. Andy mastered the saxophone and played in the Marine band and with some famous big bands including Louie Prima. He married Mary Lou Beppler on May 25, 1957. They were together every day and night for over 60 years until Andy had to reside at Lady Lakes Specialty with Parkinson's related problems.
Andy started college late in life and worked no less than 3 jobs while going to William Paterson College to support Mary Lou and his 2 daughters Andrea and Lisa. He became an English teacher and continued his education until getting his EDD, doctorate in Education from Fordham University in NY. He became Principal of Clifford Scott High School in East Orange, NJ where his educational career lasted over 30 years.
He was an avid tennis player and athlete, training his daughters to become tennis professionals. In retirement Mary Lou and Andy enjoyed residing in Vero Beach, Savannah GA, and 3 homes in The Villages. He invented training tools to help tennis players improve their game and patented these ideas. He also wrote and published a book on grammar called "Say What You Mean". It was published just before his 90th birthday.
He was a mentor to many and a devoted and loving father and husband.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Parkinson's research or cornerstone Hospice.
