Robert Earl Wyrick, II, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. He was born on December 24, 1938 in Billings, Montana to Robert Wyrick and Doris Beards Wyrick, the youngest of six children.
Bob attended the University of California Berkeley, or “Cal” as he most often called it. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in philosophy he served as a U.S. Marine. Bob spent some time attending law school, but completed his studies independently while clerking for “Judge Greg” in Martinez, California. Eventually Bob passed the California State Bar exam without completing a formal law program. Beyond his academic interests Bob loved music, food, history, and of course, a good bargain! He spent a lot of time sailing, kayaking and entertaining his kids and later his grandkids at Lodi Lake.
More than anything, Bob loved his family. He shared 52 years of marriage with his wife, Carol, who cared for him in their home until the end. As a father and grandfather he inspired a sense of adventure and discovery to learn and do new things. His family will forever remember his often-repeated anecdotes and silly jokes. His smile will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on September 12th, 2026; contact immediate family for details. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Adventist Health Lodi Memorial Adult Day Program or Hospice of San Joaquin.
