Shirley H Colton

Shirley H. Colton, age 87, of Richland, Washington passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Shirley was born in McGregor, Minnesota to Edwin Emanuel Hertenstein and Sadie Marie Dupey on August 13, 1935. Most of her life was spent in Richland, WA, approximately 60 years, with brief stints in New York, California, and Arizona. She Graduated from Richland High School and worked as a guard for Hanford Patrol for 17 years before retiring in 1989. On the side she taught ballroom dancing. One of Shirley's favorite hobbies included gardening, and she was especially passionate about her roses. She also enjoyed politics, aviation, and traveling all over the US, Mexico and Hawaii. Shirley was married to her first husband, Charles R. Rosenauer, from 1955-1966. Together they had three children: Robert J. Posenauer (of Boyertown PN), Cheryl M. Posenauer (of Richland, WA), and Christen L. Posenauer (of Kennewick, WA). And from her children she had three grandchildren: Keri, Kelly, and Oliver. And from them, four great-grandchildren.

Shirley was married to her second husband, Harold V. Colton, from 1975-2020.
