Spokane - Richard J. O'Connor Sr. died Sept. 28th 2019 at Sullivan Park Care Center. He was born April 12th 1933 in Pine River Minnesota, the son of Lloyd H. and Marie A. (Mohs) O'Connor. The family moved to Washington State in the late 1940's to Bremerton and eventually ended up in Granger Washington.
Richard joined the Air Force after high school and met Patricia Wickers in London while stationed in the United Kingdom at RAF Lakenheath . They eventually got married and moved to Moses Lake Washington. They also resided in Sunnyside Wa. and finally settled in Spokane Wa. in 1963 where their children spent most of their childhood. Richard (Dick) held many jobs but was a paint contractor by trade.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Janet and Mary Kay and son Francis. Surviving in addition to his ex-wife Patricia Kendall are Richard J. O’Connor Jr. and his wife Darla of Spokane; Michael O’Connor and his wife Phyllis of Spokane; Krissandra Woods of Spokane Valley; Daniel O’Connor of Loon Lake Wa.; Kim O’Connor of Spokane; Steve O’Connor of Spokane; Kathy Lewis and her husband James of Devon England; Joe O’Connor of Phoenix Az.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother James and his wife Donna of Kennewick Wa.; brother Lloyd and his wife Joyce of Lake Stevens Wa.; sister Margaret and her husband Hildo Rodriguez of Silverdale Wa.; sister Carol O’Connor of Kent Wa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held October 26th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 304 S. Adams Rd, Spokane Valley 99216 with a reception to follow.
