Leslie George Sterritt (Les) passed away on 4/1/25 surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 4, 1942, he was the son of George and Ethel Sterritt. The only boy with five sisters he always called himself the rose among the thorns.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and then joined the army. After leaving the army he started what would become his forever job with Union Pacific Railroad. While working up in Sandpoint he met the love of his life, Juanita. They spent 58 years together.
Les loved fishing, hunting, photography, motorcycles, classic cars and playing pool. On Wednesday before he became ill you could find him at Snoop’s playing pool with his lifelong friends Larry and Chuck.
He is survived by his wife Juanita, son Eric (Gretchen) Sterritt and daughter Stephanie Thill, his grandsons Aaron Thill, Spencer Thill, Kristopher Cook, Tyler Sterritt, Cody Sterritt and all his sisters Linda (Steve) Howe, Judy Francis, Sue (Richard) Poston, Joan Arthur, and Cindy (Terry) Sweeney. Les was preceded in death by his parents George and Ethel.
We want to thank all the wonderful people at Regency at Northpointe for the kindness and compassion they showed Dad and us during his final days.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 12th from Noon to 3:00pm at the North East Community Center at 4001 Cook Street Spokane WA 99207. We will be serving lunch and dessert. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come by whenever you like. There won’t be any type of formal service just a gathering of friends and family enjoying good food and good company.
