It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Louis Kanikeberg, a cherished husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, who moved to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 19, He was 85 years old. He lived his life filled with love for the Lord, his family, and the outdoors. Larry was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 44 years, Janet, and a caring father and step-father to their children, Dirk Kanikeberg (Lori), Michelle Metcalf (Chuck), Joni Lane (Kevin), Cindy Stensrud, and Julie Lutz (Eric). He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and very special friends, Joe and Rosie Mandich, and George and Nancy Mattson.
Born on April 10, 1939, in Hartford (Lake Stevens), Larry grew up with a strong work ethic, and a passion for life. His life’s motto was, “Perfect is good enough.” His life was dedicated to his family, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being.
Larry took immense pride in being a contractor for both commercial and residential properties, and built a few homes for he and his wife over the years.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing, relishing the quiet moments spent by the water with his long-time friend, George, where he could reflect, and enjoy nature's beauty. He loved taking long drives through the mountains and up mountain roads with his wife, Janet, reveling in the breathtaking views, eating fried chicken, picking berries, collecting landscaping rocks, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Larry had a deep-rooted faith in God that guided him throughout his life. He served his community not only through his work but also by lending a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the values he held dear. His quick wit and sparkle in his eyes, touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love and legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends.
