Kathryn Louise Silvrants

Kathryn L. (Kay) Silvrants died on February 14th, 2023. Kay was born April 5th, 1939, in Scottsbluff, NE to Harlan and Betty Brock. She lived in Morrill, ME until 1951 when her family moved to the Tomahawk Ranch near Bailey, CO. In 1952 the family moved to Erie, CO where her father started the Mile High Swiss Dairy Farm. Kay graduated from Erie High School in 1957. She married Ronald Silvrants on May 20, 1961. They lived in Brighton, CO for three years before buying their first home in Aurora CO, where they lived for 13 years. 1974 found them moving to Spokane WA where they became partners in Superior Auto Repair for 22 years. Kay worked with seniors as an Activity Director for 10 years, an Accounting Assistant for eight years and simultaneously for Starplex Crowd Management for 13 years all before retiring.

Kay and Ron spent many happy winters at a campground in Arizona where she worked as an Activity Director for seven years until the campground closed and thereafter moved to a RV park for three additional winters and went on to spend four years as hosts at Fort Spokane Campground.

She enjoyed crocheting and made numerous lap robes and bed throws for St. Luke's Rehab and made helmet hats in the Hats for Hero's program at Buckley ANG Base in Arora CO for troops overseas. When that program ceased, she started her personal donations of hat giving to Mid City Concerns and various Senior Centers in the Spokane area.

She was proceeded in death by her sister Linda Sue, her parents Harlan and Betty Brock, and her husband of nearly 60 years, Ron.

She is survived by a daughter Rhonda (Tim) Stowe, and son Rany (Michelle) Silvrants, three granddaughters, Lynzie Silvrants, Kathy Cannon, and Karri Burrow; and one grandson Lex (Dana) Silvrants; two brothers, Ken Brock of Allen's Park CO and Terry (Toni Brock of Cambridge, IL and one sister Danna (Scott) Roy of Indiahoma OK; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence St. Luke's Rehabilitation Center in Spokane, WA.
