Joan Darlene Christensen

Joan passed peacefully on February 13, 2023 at the age of 86 in Post Falls, ID. She was born the only child of Harry and Marjorie (Rattray) Tremblay in Nelson, BC, Canada. As a young girl her family moved to Spokane, WA where she attended school, graduating in 1954 from Mead HS. Jean and Doug were High School sweethearts and married June 12, 1954 at Whitworth Presbyterian Church where she remained a member until her death. She was a member of the Whitworth water aerobics family and made many lifelong friends. Joan was also involved with the “Bunco Girls” enjoying many years of get-togethers and all girl getaways. She never met a stranger and was king to everyone. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 66 years, Doug Christensen, her parents and in-laws. She is survived by two sons Darwin (Renee) Christensen and Darrell (Miriam) Christensen; grandchildren Nicholas Christensen, David Montgomery, Elizabeth Edlund; great-grandsons Gavin Christensen, Aden Ehren, and Layne Brewer; Sister-In-Law Sally Hulbert; Niece Kelly Nucci, and many treasured friends. A celebration of life will be held later this year. Memorial donations can be made to SCRAPS of Spokane or the charity of your choice.
