Heaven was too difficult to resist on the morning of May 16, 2018, so our loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister went Home to our Lord after her 7 1/2 year struggle with cancer. Deann Evelyn (Froehlich) Neuschwander, 77, of Reardan WA was at home surrounded by family as she softly smiled and slipped away from us.
She was born the eldest living child of Matthew and Evelyn (Remus) Froehlich in Anaconda, MT living there until she graduated from Anaconda Central High School in 1959. In the early fall of 1964, she caught the attention of David while she was waitressing and he was working in road construction in Boardman, OR. He quickly fell in love with the way she looked after him and made him laugh, so they married in January of 1965. They endured the good times and bad and at the mere mention of Dave bidding a new job, she began getting them packed up and ready to move on. Thank heavens organization was her gift because they ended up moving 19 times in the first 21 years of marriage. That love and affection for each other grew stronger every day of their 53 eventful years together.
She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed every moment of being around them. She was always there early for the best seat in the house to the kids' school events. She was the one cheering the loudest, wearing a proud smile and speaking words of encouragement to them. Whether it was sporting events, camping, playing games or just sitting and visiting, family time made her the happiest.
She will be remembered by those that love her as a woman who took cancer by the horns and "fought like hell". She rarely complained and even when things were at their worst, she kept her good humor and loved to laugh. She set the example for her children and grandchildren as to what it meant to love unconditionally and carry your cross with grace, strength and faith.
Deann is preceded in death by her parents and infant brothers Joseph and Paul. She is survived by her adoring family: Husband David Neuschwander; Brother Michael (Mari) Froehlich of W. Richland, WA; Sister Judi Stansbery of Adams, TN; Son Jim (Valerie) Neuschwander of Touche, WA; Daughter Tracy (Kelly) Williquette of Reardan; Grandchildren Beau Williquette of Spokane; Tyler (Kylie) Williquette of Fort Bragg, NC; Rachael Neuschwander (and fiancé Matt St. Mary) of Euphrata, WA; Haley Williquette of Reardan; Zac Neuschwander currently of the US Navy seas; and multiple beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws. She also gave the precious gift of life to her Daughter Jaime Rabdau (George) Schoeler who's children are Robert and Jessika.
The Neptune Society is handling cremation arrangements and a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michaels Catholic Church 11:00am on June 16, 2018. Open house reception to follow immediately after the service at the Williquette home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Deann's memory to Assured Hospice 1417 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Your condolences and memories are warmly welcomed and cherished.
