Dale Eugene Borders passed away at age 74 in Spokane, WA on May 02, 2023. In the wake of his passing, he leaves behind his daughter Shelbea Boggs; son Dale Borders; grandsons Codie and Christopher Boggs and Cameron; nephew Roger (Barb) Hanks and their two sons Scotty and Jason Hanks; his good friends Danny and Monica Bradeen; and Juanita. Dale was proceeded in death by his parents; sister Marion Hanks; brother-in-law Francis Hanks, and nephew Rob Hanks.
Dale was born on January 05, 1949 to Fred and Dorothy Borders in Colville, WA where he lived the majority of his wonderful years. After graduating from Colville High school in 1967, Dale attended Spokane Community College until 1969, earning academic acknowledgment on the Dean’s list.
Having an affinity for machines, Dales worked as a mechanic since high school. He worked for Scotty’s, Cole Motors, and various other facilities in the automotive repair industry until he retired in 2005. In his younger years, he enjoyed the stock car races and worked on a few as well.
Dale enjoyed hunting trips with friends and family; many of his greatest stories came home from those hunting camps. He would find the craziest things to laugh about with his kids, sometimes to the point of tears. He bought a fishing license every year just to get mad that he never caught anything or would end up with his line in a tangled mess. Dale enjoyed hunting with his grandkids, daughter, Danny and Mike. Whether it was moose hunting in Canada with his father-in-law Iven Brown, elk hunting with his good friends or just the simplest of grouse hunting, he was in his element in the woods. Dale also enjoyed volunteering to help at the Old Timers Rodeo and the Colville Rodeo back in the day. Poker rides on the ATV’s were another thing he enjoyed with family and friends. He loved playing card games and was known to cheat all the time.
It was truly a joy to know him. His life and memory will live on forever in the cherished stories we will tell for generations.
