

Long time Wilbur resident Anne Adell Carlson passed away at her home on March 30th. Born to George and Anna Mae Adams of Fairfield Washington on November 13, 1934. She was raised with her sister, Vivienne, on the family farm in Fairfield. She loved spending time with her cousins, Donna and Marie, and was close to them throughout her life.
After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1952, she attended Washington State University. She became a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. It was at WSU that she met her husband of 38 years, Herbert. He joined the Air Force and she supported him during his 20 years of service. They were stationed in the USA and overseas. During this time, she raised their two daughters, Heidi and Andrea. They loved to travel as a family to various countries. After 20 years of living the military life, they settled down in Wilbur in the 1970s to be closer to family. Anne Adell became a teacher's aide at Wilbur Grade School. She worked as a teacher's aide for many years and enjoyed working with the students. She continued to love to travel. She would travel with Herbert as much as they were able to. She was frequently found at a WSU football games and excited to attend the Cougs first appearance in the Rose Bowl. She supported her daughters in all their activities, never missing their school functions.
During her later years, she enjoyed spending time at her church, the Wilbur Senior Center and spending time with her family.
Anne Adell is survived by daughter Heidi Christiansen (Carlson) and her children Zackary, Sara and Hannah. Daughter Andrea Carlson and her son Samuel. Her great grandchildren, Sara's children Westin 4 yr old and Grayson 2 yr old. She is proceeded in death by her husband Herbert Carlson and her sister Vivienne Knott. The family plan to have a family gathering in her honor in the near future.
