Theodore Edwin Danielson

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mila Danielson; his daughter, Wendy Jane Danielson (from his first marriage); and his brother, Floyd (Bud) Henry Danielson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla (nee Cribbs), sister, Jackie Schulz, son, Christopher Danielson (Rachel Levy) from his first marriage, grandchildren, Griffin John and Tabitha Wendy Danielson, step-daughters-in-law, Heather Lynch (Mike Lynch) and Michelle Savage (Greg Savage), and step-grandson, Zachary Thomas Savage.

Ted graduated from Meadville High School in 1961. Ted earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh before beginning his career in finance at the Ford Motor Company. Highlights of his first career included two assignments in England.

After his career at Ford, he completed another Master's Degree in taxation at Walsh College, became a CPA, and ended his career working for the IRS.

Ted loved to travel, particularly when it involved seeing total solar eclipses or train trips. He visited Hawaii, England, France, Tahiti, South Africa, and Australia. Two of his favorite places were Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he attended a Unitarian Universalist family camp with his children and several times with Priscilla, Griffin, and Tabitha; and the Mountain Retreat Center in western North Carolina, where he and Priscilla were married in 1993. He enjoyed any time spent with his grandchildren.

He enjoyed reading nonfiction and researching legal issues, including parliamentary procedure. He loved explaining things to others and never shied away from a good argument. For much of his life, he was an avid duplicate bridge player and has been described as a “vicious” Scrabble player. He also liked old movies, reruns of old black-and-white TV shows, and old radio shows.

His volunteer work included a variety of leadership roles at Northwest Unitarian Universalist Church, planning the Unitarian Universalist Association’s annual meeting in 1980, and serving on the Resident Council at Allegria Village, including four years as Chair. He was serving as Resident Council Secretary at the time of his death. He was also a volunteer tax preparer for the AARP.
