Steve “Turkey” Andrews, 75, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at his home, with his wife, Debbie, by his side. He leaves behind a life as bold and unforgettable as he was, and is now in his eternal home in heaven.
Born on March 31, 1951, in Lansing, Michigan, Steve was raised in Williamston, where he quickly became known for his sharp humor, colorful language, and larger-than-life personality. He was outspoken, stood up for what was right, and always gave credit where it was due. Anyone who met Steve got to know who he was, quickly.
As a highly skilled mechanic for many years, Steve later took a leap of faith and opened a successful small engine repair shop in Haslett, Michigan. True to his wit and showmanship, he even bought a “spaceship” as a prop for a tongue-in-cheek commercial for the shop. Proof that he could be forthright, do the job right and still make you smile.
Steve found joy in simple pleasures: guns, estate sales, hunting, Keno, playing euchre, and country western movies, especially anything with John Wayne. He loved time with friends and family, kept a lawn neighbors envied, and cherished days at the lake fishing or boating and long drives to spot deer. He will be remembered for all he gave and he will be missed even more.
On March 9, 1974, Steve married the love of his life, Debbie (Crampton) Andrews. Together, they shared more than 50 years of marriage, enjoying each other’s company—for the most part, as Steve would jokingly point out. He loved his family above all else, taking pride and joy in providing for them and ensuring every need was met, day in and day out.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters, Jenny Andrews, Tracey Andrews, and Stephanie (Matt) Moreland; four grandsons, Wesley, Walter, William, and Winston; one very special granddaughter, Lily Grace; brother, Keith (Connie) Andrews; nephew, Justin Andrews; and beloved niece, Tammy Zalucky. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; mother, Shirley; and sister, Kathy.
He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, friends who will miss his big presence, and countless memories that will bring smiles, laughter, and probably a few inappropriate stories for years to come.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Neptune Society has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
