Stephen Alexander Becher

He was born on February 15, 1946 in Troy NY and grew up in London, Ontario and then Birmingham, Michigan.

Steve graduated from Seaholm High School in Birmingham and then later Eastern Michigan University. He worked as an Elementary and Middle school teacher, President of the Teacher’s Union and School Board Member for 2 terms. He was actively involved in Teacher’s union, Kiwanis, neighborhood association, City of Wayne committees, the food distribution program in Wayne, and the Democratic club in Wayne, MI.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn “Sandy”; daughter Jennifer (Michael), husband; son Jonathan; and grandchildren Archer, Piper, Jase and Ryenn.

The family would like to thank the many friends and family members for the care and compassion they showed Stephen in his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at Harry J Will Funeral Home in Wayne, Michigan on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

As you all know, Steve was very vibrant and full of life. He loved brightly colored clothes. Please consider wearing bright colors instead of the more traditional mourning attire as we celebrate his life on the 11th.
