Robert McDonald Norton

Robert was born on April 10, 1944, to Donald and LaVaune “Bonnie” (Welch) Norton and raised in Woodland, Michigan. He graduated from Lakewood Schools. He is survived by his loving partner of 44 years Dee Norton, sister Janice Lubitz, children Christopher (Pam) Norton and Robin Norton; grandchildren Robert Norton, Chase (Scott) Campbell, Audrey Terwilliger and Brooke Terwilliger; four great grandchildren; and, multiple nieces and nephews.

Robert retired from General Motors Parts Division after decades of service. He and Dee spent many of their retirement years dividing time between the Punta Gorda, Florida area and Lansing, Michigan.

Robert was known for his dedication, generosity, and unconditional love to his family, especially to his grandchildren. He welcomed all without judgment and with open arms. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kind heart, his infectious laugh and his loving nature. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Don and Bonnie, sister Carrie Norris, and grandson, Joshua Norton.

The family is honoring Robert’s wishes for no funeral service. A private family burial and celebration of life will be held in the future.
