Patricia “Pat” Elizabeth (Foxcroft) Dinka, age 87, of Grosse Pointe, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 8, 2024.The daughter of David and Betty Foxcroft, she was born September 26, 1937 in Vancouver, British Columbia becoming the eldest of two children.
Upon moving to Oakville, Ontario with her parents and younger sister, Stephanie (Foxcroft) Ouchi, in the late 1950’s she met John T. Dinka and the two quickly fell in love. Soon marrying and starting their family. In 1965,the family moved to the United States, as John was transferred with Ford Motor Company.
Her enthusiasm was plants, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Pat will be most remembered for her love of family Sunday dinners at their home in Grosse Pointe and celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving at the family cottage on Little Whitefish.
She was the beloved wife of 60 years to John; loving mother to John David (Catherine), Trevor, and Stephanie (Mike); proud grandmother “Magga” to David, Jenna, Stephen, Maxwell and Simon; sister to Stephanie (Joe) Ouchi; sister-in-law to Carl (Sue) Dinka, Gitta (Ken ) Mullaly; and aunt to Nicholas, Michael, Stephen, Kimmie, Kip and Kain and their families.
A heartfelt thank you to Meals on Wheels and to Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital . The family will be planning a Memorial in the New Year, no specific details at this time.
