Born in Detroit, Michigan, Bert lived a life dedicated to service, family, and education. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit in 1962, where he participated in ROTC. Following high school, Norbert enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served as a Radio Man from 1962 to 1966.
After his military service, Bert pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wayne State University in 1978.
Bert found happiness in coaching his sons' baseball teams, honing his golf swing, and sharing countless memorable moments with family and friends. Whether it was with a firm handshake, a warm hug, or his trademark sharp wit, he brought humor to any situation. A true sports enthusiast, Bert never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams and share his passion with those he loved.
Bert shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert Charles and Katherine Marie Roths. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; siblings Alfred (Lucy), Donna Jean, and Albert (Lorie); his children Aaron, Adam (Laurel), and Austin; his stepchildren Bruce (Bev) and Michele (Leo); and his cherished grandchildren Dahlia, Linnea, Emilienne, Bethany (Nick), Oakley, Rory, Elliott, Sophia, and Graham, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Riverwood Community Church, 12000 Clinton River Rd., Sterling Heights, MI, 48313. A luncheon will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Riverwood Community Church.
Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, at a later date.
