Mike Martinez

Born on July 1, 1946 in Adrian, Michigan, Mike lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and generosity. Whether it was tending to his yard, helping a friend, cheering on the grandkids at every game or playing a round of golf. Mike had a gift for making everyone feel valued and loved. Mike retired from General Motors and was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Hornet (CVS12).

Mike is survived by his children, Michael (Beth) Martinez, Michele (Todd) Eschtruth and Jeffrey (Crystal) Martinez. Stepchildren, Kelly (Josh) Brock, Brian Rice and Colleen Rice. Partner Rose McCrumb. Dear brother of Helen (Rudy) Soliz, Jack Martinez, Bernice (John) VanOver. Beloved grandfather of Jessica, Jamie, Dakota, Anissa, Gavin, Pierce and Aurora; Great-grandfather of Brody and Lennon; Also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Viviano Martinez; Great Grandmother Mary Ornelas; siblings Gloria Cervantes and Viviano Martinez.

Rather than mourning in silence, we invite friends and family to join us for a Celebration of Life on June 27, 2026 at Tony M's (3420 Creyts Road Lansing, Michigan 48917) from 12-3pm, where we will share stories and moments that reflect the joy Mike brought into our lives.

Mike will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid, Michigan at a private family event in June.

Though Mike is no longer with us in person, his light will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
