Marion Estella Allan (Moore) of Sterling Heights (formerly of St. Clair Shores) passed on April 11th 2023 at the age of 87. The only child of the late William & Marion Moore (Murphy), she was born on December 17th 1935 in Lakewood, New Jersey. Marion grew up near the Jersey Shore where her parents had a summer home. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.S. in Education & Minors in Music & later received her Masters in Reading from Wayne State a few years after she moved to Michigan in 1970. She dedicated her life to teaching inner city youth & spent the last 30 years of her career with Detroit Public Schools. She was also an accomplished opera singer & taught voice lessons for over 25 years. After her retirement, she was a volunteer performer at local nursing homes & often brought her students to sing for the residents. Marion was a tireless advocate for many causes including Mu Phi Epsilon, which raised scholarships for those who were pursuing degrees in music. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel. Devoted companion of the late Roy Sharpe. Loving mother of Ronald (Cris) & Diana Nagy (Steve) & stepchildren Kathleen, Timothy, Carole & David. Cherished grandmother of Marisa, Dylan, Rosalee, Nathan, Caileigh, Cyrus, Hannah, Allyssa, Lacie, Jacob & Jonah. A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 6th at Calvary Chapel Oakland County 1975 E Long Lake Rd. in Troy. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00-1:00 with a service at 1:00pm.
