Magdalena Gbur

Magdalena Marie Gbur, age 87, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, in Grosse Pointe Farms. She was born on February 25, 1939, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Francisco and Loretto Rivas.

Magdalena was the beloved wife of Donald Gbur, the couple was united in marriage on November 30, 1957, in El Paso, Texas, and shared seventy amazing loving years together.

She was devoted mother of Christoper (Winnie) Gbur of Bayside, New York, Deanna (Philip) Miller of Grosse Pointe Woods, Jeanette (Mark) Johnston of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michael Gbur of Grosse Pointe Woods.

Magdalena was a proud Grandmother to Mei Gbur and Ian Gbur, Christopher Miller, Philip (Melissa) Miller, Nicole (Robert) Muylaert, Justin (Katelynn) Johnston, Shane Johnston, Kylie (Tyler) Price, Madeline Gbur, and Nicholas (Olivia) Gbur, and a cherished Great-Grandmother to, Austin, Ben, Juliet, Aria, Arthur, Atticus, and Gus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Carlos (Emma) Rivas, Frank Rivas, Luis Rivas, Daughter-in-laws Chika Gbur, Kim Gbur and Grandson, Jason Miller.

Magdalena was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother and loving family woman. She worked for PNC as a VP. Magdalena found pleasure in traveling with her husband and friends. She was known for making Mexican food and feeding the neighbor children for dinner. She loved her family and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, 10:00 am mass at St. Paul On The Lake Catholic Church, (157 Lake Shore Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236). Luncheon will follow at Village Grille, 16930 Kercheval Ave., Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
