

Larry L. Cross, age 92, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Lansing, Michigan. Larry was born on the 16th of December 1933 in Peoria, Illinois, to Arthur and Arlin Cross. He had one sister, Marylyn Rabideau, who preceded him in passing.
Larry grew up in Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from High School in 1951. Following high school, Larry attended University of Illinois and earned a degree in Architecture / Engineering. Larry served in the U.S. Army Reserves and left the service as a Captain in the Signal Corps. He met his future wife, Shirley, at the wedding of a good friend. Larry and Shirley were married on July 22, 1956. They moved to Lansing, Michigan, in 1957 where Larry accepted employment. Larry retired after 53 years to care for Shirley. He was also a member of University Lutheran Church since 1957. He served the City of East Lansing on the Zoning Board of Appeals for over 20 years.
Larry is survived by his children and their spouses, Cindy and Mark, David and Helen. He is also survived by four grandchildren and their spouses: Ryan and Stephanie, Nick and Sarah, Kimberly and Michael, and Daniel. Larry has four great-grandchildren: Melissa, Hannah, Parker, and Cindy Jo (CJ).
In his spare time, he loved golfing, snow skiing, traveling, going to exercise classes, and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He touched the lives of all whom he met. Those who knew him will always remember his smile and warm heart. He was an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial service will be held at a future date at University Lutheran Church in East Lansing. His ashes will be spread in the Memorial Garden at University Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Larry’s name to: University Lutheran Church, the American Legion, or the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan.
