Growing up on the family farm on Bemis Road in Ypsilanti, she was busy with animals and gardening. Judy went to Brick School in the Lincoln Consolidated School District when it was K-12. She was homecoming queen her senior year. After High School, she worked for many years at AAA insurance in downtown Ypsilanti.
Meeting Ted V Mull Sr in 1957, they were married in November of 1959. In their first year of marriage they moved into a new home, started Ted’s Auto Electric in Ypsilanti’s Depot Town where Judy was the one and only bookkeeper, and had their first born Susan (Stauch). In the coming years, they had 3 more children; Charlotte (Allum), Jeffrey Mull, and Ted Mull Jr.
Ted and Judy were a vital part of Depot Town with their business and also living on Dwight Street. Taking part in Adam’s Elementary School’s community, watching parades on the top of the hill at River Street and Forest Ave, being part of the Heritage Festival, and enjoying and participating in car shows. After 57 years, they sold Ted’s to Cultivate Coffee Shop and retired to Canton, MI.
Judy leaves behind her husband of 65+ years, Ted V Mull Sr, along with her 4 children, a sister Patricia Sitko (Reno NV), 2 sons-in-law Mark Allum and Ted Piokowski, 2 daughters-in-law Stephanie Mull and Ann Jenkins. She was beloved by her grandchildren Andrew Allum, Tyler Allum, Jessica Mull, Samantha Mull, Kyle Stauch, Jacob Stauch and was blessed with 2 great grandchildren Lyla and Lexi Allum. Judy also leaves behind many friends and acquaintances who will dearly miss her.
Judy was most proud of her family, the fact that Ted’s Auto Electric was such a success, and that her life was so full to her last day surrounded by family and friends that visited her every day. The nurses teased that she had the party room! Go rest easy my lady.
