

Jimmy was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He was a man of deep faith, a devoted Catholic who found comfort and guidance in his beliefs. He dedicated 30 years of his career as a Supervisor at GM Truck and Bus, where he was respected for his hard work and leadership. He was also a proud member of the Honda Goldwing Group, sharing his love of riding with fellow enthusiasts. In his free time, he found a passion for woodworking, a hobby that reflected his patience, skill, and creativity.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family. He shared 61 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Glenda Howey.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Howey; his daughters, Deborah DeProw (Russell) and Marci Metropoulos (Christopher); and his cherished grandchildren: Daniel (Stephanie) Bouchard, David Bouchard, Dennis (Cristina) Bouchard, Derrick Bouchard, Jeffrey Larner, Jacob Metropoulos, Chade Howey, Gage Howey, Bryce Howey, and Heather Douglas and his sister LaNetta Ross. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Adriana, Isaiah, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Hayley (his birthday present), Isabelle, Bianca, Chenoa, Korbin, Ashara, and Joshua and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Julia Howey, his brothers Richard Howey, William Howey, his sister Judy Webb, his son Richard Howey and his son-in- law David W Bouchard.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his strength, his faith, and his service to his country. His legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him. Semper Fi.
Jimmy will be laid to rest at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly MI on 4/24/26 at 9 am.
A Service and Celebration of Life will be held at the St Francis de Sales 3945 Williamson Rd, Saginaw (Bridgeport), MI on 4/23/26 at 11:00 am (Luncheon will follow)
