I met Jeff at my next-door neighbor's house for various parties.  Jeff and Joann were always very friendly to me.  I especially enjoyed talking with them about their cat, since I am a cat lover.  I could tell that Jeff got a kick out of talking about his feline friend and showing me his photos.  Jeff smiled a lot which added to his cheerfulness.  I will miss seeing him at the parties and pray that we will carry in our memories Jeff's smiling face to brighten our days.

Our deepest sympathy to the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will miss Jeff, he was friend from way back to elementary school. We had many good times together and shared a number of good friends. Please accept Laurie and my heartfelt condolences.

Dear Joann,
My thoughts are with you and your family.  I will miss Jeff albeit we hadn’t spoke much in the past few years.  We texted just before the election and took comfort that we were aligned.  Just Sunday before his passing I used a variation one of his one-liners from poker while I was learning to play pickle-ball.  “It’s two to you or toodleloo.”  Then there was his, “come-on huh!” I use that one regularly.  I uploaded a picture from 19 years ago that I think captures his essence.   Of course he has a Lion’s shirt on!

Jeff had a distinct voice, fun character and great hand/eye coordination.  As a boy, I played baseball, football and basketball with him.  I’m sure Myron, the Fichts, Hartels, Ron D and others remember Jeff taking (and making) a shot and saying, “Jamal”.  

Our friendship circle has been breached for a second (Ted Layman) time.  I hope we all take stock that life is short, be the best you can every day and know that each day is a gift.
I will not be able to attend the service due to a previous commitment, but know I am grieving along with you, his/your family and friends.

Dear Joann,

So sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was truly one of my closest friends. Having known him since elementary school, we shared so many great memories and fun times through the years,  I can't even count. He was a great guy, always had a smile on his face and keeping the rest of us in our little "gang" laughing. I always marveled at his various athletic skill's, especially being a great bowler.  I feel grateful to have had him in my life and was able to share all the fun times. He won't be forgotten.
