Jerry was a hardworking man whose life reflected dedication to both his career and his community. He was proud to have worked at Jackson Drop Forge and Alro Steel, where he served as both a UAW and Teamsters union steward. Beyond his devotion to family, he was especially proud of his longtime service on the Board of Directors of American 1 Credit Union, where he served for more than 40 years.
From 1960 to 1964, Jerry served in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany, he met and married the love of his life, Rose. His life was also filled with simple pleasures, including bargain shopping, garage sales, and tooling around the neighborhood in his chair while visiting with friends and neighbors.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Rose; and his sons, Frederick and Steven.
He is survived by his daughters, Manuela "Missy" Lyons and Suzanne Williams; his son-in-law, Michael Williams; his grandsons, Jeremy Tremaine and Sean Loeb; his granddaughters, Brianna Williams and Ava Tremaine; his three great-grandsons, Talan, Kelvin, and Grant; his sister, Marilyn Black; his nephews, Kenneth Black II (Lee Ann) and Joseph Black (Jennifer); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nathan, Kenny, Allison, Gavin, and Tommy.
Jerry will be remembered for his years of service, strong work ethic, and the many roles he filled throughout his life: union steward, board member, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His long-standing commitment to the organizations he served and to the family he loved remains a lasting part of his legacy.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial celebration of Jerry's life will be held in the Tremaine Room at the American 1 Event Center on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
