On Sunday June 18, 2023 Eva Rose Murphy (ne Drudi), beloved mother, grandmother, Nonni and friend, passed away at age 96. The youngest of seven children born to Italian immigrants who settled in Plymouth, MA, it was there that her mischievous nature flourished with the story of her painting Plymouth Rock red becoming a family legend.
At the age of 12 Eva met William (Billy) Joseph Murphy who waited 5 years to marry the love of his life. As a teen Eva attended Boston Trade School where she studied to be a seamstress with her siblings being the benefactors of her talent and skill. As an adult Eva could be described as a “feisty foodie” who demonstrated her love through cooking. Homemade ravioli with sauce and tortellini soup becoming traditional family favorites.
Eva was preceded in death by her doting husband Billy, faithful companion Charles (Charlie) Willard and all 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Janet Murphy Quensen, grandchildren Erica and Chad Quensen (Christina Carlson), and great-grandchildren Eva, Carlos, Noah and Eli.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 28, 2023 from 12:00-3:00 PM at her favorite restaurant, Asian Buffet 4920 Marsh Rd. Okemos, MI with final interment to occur in Boston, MA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to Stoneleigh Residence & Hospice of Lansing; hospiceoflansing.org.
