Dorothy May Somody

Dorothy May Somody, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Corewell Beaumont Troy under the loving care of Residential Hospice. She was the daughter of Rev. Henry G. Sr. & Geneva U. Smith (nee Griewisch). She was born July 6, 1948 in Mt. Clemens.

She worked at Sears Outlet for many years. Dorothy was a God fearing Christian woman. Life wasn't easy but she made the best of it. She loved old TV shows, movies, reading her Bible and books.

She was preceded by her parents; and siblings, Henry G. Smith Jr., Paul Smith, Mary A. Curtis, Thomas M. Smith and Suzanna R. Smith; and her nephews, David E. Smith and Brian Smith. Her two surviving siblings are Nancy Orlando and Geneva Kratzer; also surviving by her three children, Walter Somody Jr., Patricia Ortner and Brian Somody; two grandchildren, Ashlee Laughlin and Mikal (Diana) Laughlin; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a great great niece.

She will be missed. There will be no service at this time.
