Charles J Brattain

Chuck was born to Charles and Gladys Brattain on August 19, 1941 in Pontiac, MI. He had one sister, Jeannette Bell (deceased). Chuck is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kathy"; their children Mike (Shella), Kirk (Kim), Tony (Loukia) and Kathryn (Stephan), six grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Christina, Nicolas, Kaitlyn and Juliana and two great grandchildren, Seth and Reagan.

Chuck was a very dedicated and hard working man. He graduated from Pontiac High School, where he met his wife Kathy. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and was honorably discharged. After his time in the Army, Chuck attended Walsh College and earned a Bachelor of Accountancy degree. He dedicated over 20 years of his career with General Motors Corporation and worked as the Supervisor of Accounting upon his retirement. After retiring from GM, Chuck began a new career as a Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Franchisee and built the brand in the Waterford, Pontiac and Keego Harbor areas.

Chuck and Kathy married on October 27, 1960, and were blessed with a family who remain very close. The couple were happily married and best friends for over 60 years. Chuck was an extremely loving and proud husband, father and grandpa, "pops' , which came very naturally. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. Chuck also enjoyed boating, golfing and always kept busy with a project around the house. Chuck and Kathy enjoyed their place in Florida during the winter months but always returned to Michigan, the place they considered "home".

We would like to invite family and friends to join us in a memorial service to honor and celebrate Chuck's life for he will be sadly missed. Please share happy memories of a loving, and caring man with the warmest, most welcoming smile, who enjoyed life to the fullest and was kind to everyone he met.

The memorial service for Chuck will be held at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 310 South Parker Street, Marine City, MI. 48039 on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 2pm. Lunch to follow.
