BOBBIE G. SHEFFER, SR. was born in Clayton Township, Michigan to Roy and Laura Sheffer. He grew up in Pontiac. He was number 6 out of 7 children: four (4) brothers (George, Melvin, Dwayne, and Arley) and two (2) sisters (Madeline Smith and Dona King). In the summer, he made several trips to Prescott, Michigan, to help with the work at the Sheffer Dairy Farm.
April 28, 1951, he married Mary Grace Simpkiss. In 1976, they moved to the Inverness, Florida area, where he lived for over 39 years. He was active in the First Church of God in Inverness where he served as Trustee. He prided himself in overseeing the maintenance of the church and church grounds. His passion was family, church, his cars, and playing Euchre, Pinochle, and Hand and Foot (he seemed to win an awful lot!!). He was always hosting game nights with members of the church! He loved having people around!
After a family reunion in Cleveland, Tennessee, in 2016, he moved back to Michigan to live with his daughter, Gayla. He met Pat Peters at the Waterford Senior Center in September, 2017. They were good companions to each other.
Bob is survived by his companion, Patricia Peters; five (5) children: Gayla (Ron) Coleman, Luanne (Ron) St. Marie, Paul (Judy) Sheffer, Susan (Dennis) Patterson, and Bobbie G.
