Art was born on March 23, 1938 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Louis and Helen Zasadny. He grew up in Wyandotte before moving to Trenton, where he became a police officer and an active community member for his entire life.
Art was a devoted father to his two sons Arthur and Brian and daughter Loni, and a beloved partner to Mary Colombo for 19 years.
Art dutifully served his community as a police officer in Trenton for 30 years, retiring in 1997 as Chief of Detectives. After retirement, Art worked as a security officer in the psychiatric ward at Riverside Hospital in Trenton and then as a driver at Future Tool where he developed friendships with whom he shared many memorable camping trips throughout the years.
Art is survived by his partner of 19 years Mary Colombo, sons Arthur (Beth) Zasadny and Brian (Gina) Zasadny; daughter Loni (Scott) Soulliere; sister Sue Przygocki; brother Ernie (Darlene) Zasadny; nieces and nephews Jim Przygocki, Pamela Cork, Laurie Walker, Kathleen Brown and Matt Zasadny; grandchildren Rebecca, Daniel, Dominik, Stas, and Anika. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Louis and Helen (Rutecki) Zasadny.
As we remember Arthur Louis Zasadny, we remember his strong personality, his sense of humor, and most of all his big heart. In Art's life, he touched many lives and left a positive impact that will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends and family for a Celebration of Life on June 14, 2026, starting at 2 PM at Shelter A in Elizabeth Park, Trenton, Michigan.
