T. Patrick Stambaugh left this world on September 28, 1926, with loving family and friends to see him off. A longtime resident of Los Angeles, Patrick also lived for 16 years in London, England, as well as in Paris, France, and for four years in New York City.
Patrick was born on January 5, 1935, in the small Texas town of Plainview, but spent most of his younger years in Lubbock, Texas, where he graduated from Lubbock Senior High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock in 1957.
Upon graduation from Texas Tech, Patrick was recruited by the National Security Agency in Washington, D.C., as one of an elite group of college graduates selected to complete intensive studies in areas of international interest before being placed in permanent positions within the agency. After six months of these studies, Patrick decided that this particular path was not for him. He resigned and moved west to Los Angeles in 1959.
A lifelong fan of movies, Patrick hoped to find his place in the world of entertainment. In 1960, he began working at 20th Century Fox and later moved to Desilu Studios, where he was fortunate to be involved in the early days of international syndication of television programming. This field would become his life's work.
Patrick worked for many years at Paramount Television at the main studio in Hollywood and later spent four years at the Gulf and Western headquarters on Columbus Circle in New York City. In 1976, while serving as a vice president under Bruce Gordon, he was given the opportunity to move to Paramount Television's offices in London. It was there that Patrick found his greatest professional satisfaction. He remained in London for 16 years before returning to Los Angeles in 2000, where he retired.
During his years abroad, Patrick met and worked with many wonderful people throughout the world of international television. The friendships he formed during those years remained very special to him throughout his life.
Patrick was predeceased by his mother, Vertie; his father, Chester; his brother, Ellison; and his sister-in-law, Ricki. He leaves behind his niece, Susan Stambaugh of Burbank, and a wonderful circle of close friends whom he regarded, loved, and treasured as his family.
If Patrick had a mantra in life, it was simply to be kind to everyone. He left this world knowing that he had been blessed with a special and wonderful life.
