I had sent an obituary to the Neptune Society long ago to post, but it never happened. Its a good thing .

My name is Jack, Roger and I had been together just shy of 34 years when he passed.  We met in November of 1986, I know things like his birth date that he was born in Altoona PA, went to Altoona high school, Joe and Norma were his parents.  He had three siblings, Joe, Mark and Brian.  I am hoping  people can add snippets here and there of that time. 

While I knew Roger he was a Cook, a Dancer, an Artist, a Potter, a Quilter and a Yogi.  He became very proficient at all of these. He also became a teacher for pottery and yoga. In 1995 he was in a car accident that caused a brain hemorrhage, he became disabled. He had to learn to walk and talk and pretty much start all over. It was difficult.  I think he did his best pottery after his recovery. Yoga helped him immensely in his recovery as did our dog Chilli. 

We met in a dance class in LA. He was a dancer, I was an aerobics teacher (stealing routines).  After class he waited in the lobby, we had a bit of a conversation before he asked me to coffee. To be honest, in Roger’s version he would say I asked him.  Pretty much we were together ever since.  

Roger loved the beach, live theater, Cirque Du Soleil, any type of dancing concert, music, cooking, art and artistic people no matter their medium.  He loved our dog Chilli, they were inseparable. For his last birthday I took him to the latest Cirque show, front row seats. Bought tickets through the Cirque club, like always, and won some lottery where we won VIP passes, got to go backstage, a  VIP lounge with free drinks and food. goody bags with all sorts of stuff.  Happiest I had seen him in a long time.  He was certain I had planned it all, just would not  believe it was luck. That is the day I am choosing to remember when I am sad. I went to school with Roger from grade school through high school. Such a kind and loving person. His parents were friends with my parents. Joe and Norma were great people. Roger will be missed. Lisa Grabosky Finch.

My condolences to Roger's loved ones.  He was a dear friend when we were in high school.  We drove across the country in his Honda Civic from PA to CA in 1982 as part of his permanent move to the west coast.   The attached photo is from a brief stay with his relatives in Colorado Springs.  The trip opened my eyes to a bigger world beyond the town we grew up in.  I'm so thankful Roger was in my life.
