

AGOURA, CA — Rocco Jeffrey Lanzolatta died on August 17, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 73. He was born on November 18, 1952, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Gerardo and Pamela Lanzolatta and spent much of his childhood in Stratford, Connecticut.
After graduating from Western New England College with a degree in mathematics, Rocco began a career in the medical laboratory industry. He held various senior management positions with International Clinical Laboratories until 1990 and with Unilab from 1990 to 2003, most recently serving as President of Unilab Southern California. He served as CEO of Alfigen through its sale to Genzyme from 2003 to 2004 and founded and served as CEO of The Laboratory Choice, LLC, from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, Rocco joined Pacific Toxicology Laboratory as Chief Executive Officer and remained in that position until his retirement in 2023.
When not working, Rocco enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also liked biking, golfing, fishing, and live music. He is survived by his wife, Tafat; his daughter, Jessica; his stepchildren, Ella and Imri; his sisters, Wendy Gorton and Mary McNabb; and his beloved dog, Levon.
Rocco will be sorely missed. He was truly one of a kind.
