PATRICIA ANN SAUVÉ (Pat) née LUECKE, fortified with the Holy Sacraments of the Catholic Church, passed away in Los Angeles, California on April 1, 2025 at age 80. Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Harry Joseph Luecke, Jr. and the late Del Katherine Luecke (McQuade). Pat is survived by the love of her life, her cherished husband of 52 years, Michael Thomas Sauvé, her sister, Jacqueline Rogers (Luecke) of New Mexico, and cousin Sandy Rusalessi (McQuade) of Colorado. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Frann (Luecke), brother Harry John Luecke, grandfather John Francis McQuade, grandmother Frances M. Luecke, Uncles Richard Arthur McQuade, Joseph George Luecke and John
Hain Luecke.
Pat was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 8, 1944. She graduated from Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, Missouri in 1962 and the University of Michigan/Ann Arbor in 1966. Following college, Pat began her career as a teacher of Latin and English in Michigan. She moved to Los Angeles with her husband in 1978 where she continued her teaching career at Campbell Hall in Studio City, California until her retirement.
Pat was a gifted intellectual who mastered classical literature, Latin and history. The theatre, arts, music, film and all manner of human creativity were undeniable passions. Her fondness for the works of William Shakespeare was the source of many memorable quotes that were fittingly sprinkled into conversation. She expressed herself impeccably using the “King’s English” in its most precise version. Her writing talent was evidenced in her poignant poetry.
She pioneered a writing skills curriculum at Campbell Hall to enhance students’ literacy and writing skills. There was no educational pursuit that missed her gaze. She excelled in every arena in which she stepped and achieved the same mark in her interpersonal relationships, some of which spanned more than seven decades.
Organized charity received many contributions from this generous and kind soul. Her generous hand was readily offered when she noticed someone struggling to make ends meet. More than once she opened her doors to bridge the financial gap for another with never a debt to be settled.
Her wit was a product of her refined, creative mind but she never failed to acknowledge another’s humor. She was a long-time fan of Sid Caesar, Jerry Lewis and Bob Newhart among other accomplished comedians as well as anyone who enjoyed producing and sharing a good laugh.
Perhaps her most outstanding characteristic was her never-failing moral compass. Honesty and integrity were uppermost in her character. It took no time or effort for her to determine the proper course to take or decision to make.
Her infectious laugh, incomparable style, and unconditional love will be missed in boundless measures. Pat was a true gift; a loving friend and a joy to the lives she touched.
To borrow Shakespeare, “Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight, sweet princess. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
By the grace of God we will meet again for our time together was unbearably short.
Requiescas pacem, our darling Pat. You will forever live in our hearts.
Memorial arrangements have yet to be decided.
