James A. Siracusa, 65, of Tarzana, CA went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 20, 2018 at Providence Tarzana Hospital after a long disability.
“Jim” was born Nov. 10, 1952 to Joseph and Eleanor (Cristino) Siracusa also of Tarzana, CA. He was a graduate of Taft High School, Woodland Hills CA, and attended Los Angeles Pierce College, Woodland Hills, CA, and Valley College, Van Nuys, CA, where he studied music. Jim married Karen (Barros-Santos) on June 5, 1976, in Granada Hills, CA, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 1989. Jim was a very gifted musician. He was an accomplished drummer playing in many cities across the nation. It was during these travels that he met his wife. Once married, he changed to a career in sound editing that required less traveling. Jim was a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild for 12 years and was a five time Primetime Emmy award nominee, and a Golden Reel Award recipient in 1987 for Best Sound Editor, TV Pilots & Specials, “Wiseguy”. Jim’s love for his wife was only superseded by his love for the Lord. He served as an Associate Pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Burbank CA, for 4 years while working full time as an editor. Jim was passionate and successful at everything he pursued. Tragically, this all ended on Aug. 12, 1989 in an auto accident that took his wife and left him mentally disabled. We rejoice that he is now free from his body and present with the Lord and his wife!
Jim is survived by his loving father, Joseph Siracusa of Tarzana, CA; his three children, Leahni, married to Shaun Boatwright, Fontana, CA; Corrie, married to Jeff Blake, La Cresenta, CA; and Anjolie Siracusa, Tarzana, CA; nine grandchildren, Kayla, Kameron, Sydney, Janelle, Isaiah, Adorie, Jayden, Jeremiah, and Justin; one sister, Geraldine “Gerry”, married to Robert Gomora, Fort Collins, CO; one brother, Steve Siracusa, married to Melissa (Blough), Lancaster, CA; one brother-in-law, Carl Kessler, Inyokern, CA; and two sisters-in-law, Susan Barros, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and Diane Gomes, Rayham, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor; wife, Karen; daughter, Joellie Knight; sister, Marie “Toni” Kessler; and mother-in-law, Katie Barros.
