My momma Esther.  I have so many memories with you to count.  I remember from the first day we met until calling you several time a week just to check in.  You were not only my best friend for the last 25 years, but you were also my second mom.  Introducing you to my mom and seeing the friendship you two developed was so amazing.  At times your friendship with my mom was funny, like the first time I took you two to a casino and the time we got there, you two went along your way together and left me telling me to meet you two here when it was time to leave.  We had many adventures working together and outside of work.  My weeks weren't complete without talking to you at least twice, as you gave me such great advice and allowed me to vent.  My family loved you like you were a part of our family, and it was great to have you at many of my family events.  I thank God for putting you in my life for so many years to be a part of mine.  I will always remember everything you taught me as you were also like a mentor that didn't hesitate to tell me when I was wrong.    From going to casinos, grocery shopping, out to eat, just visiting you, driving to Arizona to visit Carmen, going to Spanish concerts, etc..  Every moment I share with you always came with laughs, sometimes tears, and good times.  I loved hearing you tell me about your kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  It was as if I knew them before I met some of them because of your stories and pictures you had in your living room.  Momma, I don't know what I am going to do without you, but I am very happy you are resting now.  Maritza, Julio, and Maribel, thank you so much for sharing your mom with me.  I love you all.

My deepest condolences to the Matos family. I have too many amazing, fond and hilarious memories working along side this amazing woman at Penny Lane. Esther taught me so much! She was magical with the children  and loves them so much.

I was a student at Penny Lane, and my life was profoundly transformed by Ester’s loving yet steady guidance. She truly showed what it means to show up for kids, even when they weren't her own. Dearest Maribel, Scott and Family, We're so sad to hear you lost your wonderful mom, Esther..... There's no preventing the sadness that grieving her loss will bring though we wish there was anything we could say or do to make it less than it is. We hope with time, many wonderful memories of her begin to bring a peace that passes all understanding....And most of all, that you continue to feel her presence around you until you can see and hold her again.
