Eleanor Guides

Mother to Robin (Art), Michael and Christopher (Rachel), sister to fraternal twin Carol (John Matthews), and brother to the late Walter Frank. She was a wonderful and caring grandmother to Tanner, Ethan and Ava.

Eleanor was born in Connecticut to Ellie and Axel Frank, before moving to “The Cape" where she created many lasting childhood memories with numerous friends and family in Falmouth MA. After graduating from Lawrence High School in 1956, Eleanor and the family moved to Locust Valley, NY, where she eventually married (John) and raised her family in the nearby town of Glen Cove, NY.

Eleanor loved her work and friends at Nassau County AHRC before retiring in 2010 after 24 years. Soon after retirement she moved out west to the Friendly Valley community in Valencia, CA. She lived her best life with friends playing cards, exercising, traveling, and volunteering. In 2021 Eleanor moved back east to live with and also be near to her immediate family. Many people remember Eleanor for her interest in sewing, baking, and good sense of humor.

Contributions/donations can be made in her honor to Nassau County AHRC. The family will be holding a private reception to share memories and laughs.
