In Loving Memory of E.J. Bennett May 2, 1932 - April 30, 2017 E.J. Bennett 84, of Los Angeles, CA succumbed to Congestive Heart Failure at his home surrounded by his family on April 30, 2017. E.J. is survived by his beloved wife Laraine of 43 years, sister-in-law Billie Jean Billman, daughters Dellia Johnson and Erica Wolfe, son Matthew Bennett, son-in-law Jason Wolfe, nieces, nephews, many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. First and foremost, E.J. loved people. It was his nature to help others and to think about their welfare. His magnetic personality continually drew young and old alike because of his generous spirit, unmatched knowledge and wisdom. He guided and helped protect them with various aspects of their lives by sharing God's Word. He enjoyed fixing their vehicles, helping with their gardens, yards, and projects in and out of their houses. He was the go to guy whenever anyone needed help or just wanted to chat because he was so interesting, shared many life stories and provided wise counsel. He saved many people's lives. The neighbors lovingly referred to Mr. Bennett as the "Mayor" of the neighborhood. E.J. loved and enjoyed his truck. He loved to keep busy tending to his vegetable and flower gardens and many other activities until he was forced to give up doing the things he loved due to his illness. He was a jack of all trades and master of many. He enjoyed listening to music, strumming his guitar, bowling, watching the news, old westerns, nature programs, Xena the Warrior type programs and car chases. E.J. was always available to help family, neighbors, friends and strangers with whatever they needed. A special thank you to Faith & Hope Hospice in Burbank, CA for their loving care and support. Also thank you to the Neptune Society for all the arrangements they provided. Mr. Bennett was truly a man of God, admired and respected by all who knew him. A life well lived until he went home to be with our Lord and Saviour. A memorial to celebrate the life of Mr. E.J. Bennett is being planned. ~
