Edwina Theresa Skaff (Drake), a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 81 after a difficult two-month battle that reflected her strength and determination. Born on August 1, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, Edwina lived a remarkable life defined by beauty, talent, and a deep devotion to her family and craft.
Edwina shared 48 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Joseph Skaff. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories—creating a strong foundation for their family. She was also the proud and loving mother of Suzanne Skaff-Tomp, mother-in-law to Alfred Tomp, and a devoted aunt to her treasured nieces and nephews: Katie Drake, Kristyn Drake, Sasha Skaf, Celine Skaf, Gabriella Skaff, Tatiana Skaff, Christelle Skaff, Rock Chami, and Ralph Chami.
Edwina was part of a proud family legacy, working alongside her mother, Sue Drake, and her aunt, Juel Park, at the iconic Juel Park Lingerie—a custom-made lingerie company renowned for catering to the finest Old Hollywood starlets and the elite. Not only did she continue to run the family business, but she also graced its designs as a stunning model in her earlier years, embodying the glamour and elegance for which the brand was celebrated. Her creativity and dedication helped preserve the company’s legacy, making her an integral part of its continued success.
Edwina was preceded in death by her beloved brother, who passed away in 2015; her memory endures as a testament to the love and bond they shared.
Known for her strength, resilience, loving heart, and caring nature, Edwina was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She found great joy in entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends—always the warm and gracious hostess, she made everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Whether through her work, her unwavering support of loved ones, or her radiant personality, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her courage during her final months will always be remembered as a reflection of her steadfast spirit.
