David Ramsar Williams II unexpectedly passed away on the afternoon of September 2nd, 2023 at his home in Culver City, CA. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Autumn Star and son Dashiell Ryder.
Ram’s day of birth was May 21st, 1972 in Long Island, NY. He leaves behind his mother Mary Ellen Rose Radice of Park City, UT and his parents David and Susan Williams of St. James, NY.
He was a fun, rambunctious and loving child who was soon joined by his sister Danajean Sunshine (Scott) Witkin of Park City, UT, Candice (Jeff) Elkins Melbourne, FL and little brother Kevin Gagne of St. James, NY. His 4 nephews and nieces will miss him always. "Head West Young Man" was a quote he took literally and soon made his way to Colorado in 1993 and finally, California where he epitomized the notion of "California Cool." He knew celebrities, music artists and back-stories that he would deftly share without divulging any truly identifying details but with that wink in his eye and a "you know what I'm talking about" grin. There is a lyric in the Red Hot Chili Peppers song "Scar Tissue" that he would swear came from a men's meeting in Santa Monica he participated in.
Ram was a confidant to so many and became the catalyst for disparate people to become life-long friends as witnessed by the outpouring of love for him. Whether it was watching Autumn's soccer games, riding his motocross bike with Dash in the desert or playing handball at the public courts - Ram soaked up as many experiences (and tattoos!) as possible. As a sponsor to dozens he offered up experiences to make ODAAT doable for so many people along the way and never asked for anything in return. Later in life, he patented a type of motorcycle peg that enabled the rider to lean back, prop their feet on the pegs and literally lie down and chill out when riding their Harley. That was Ram. In the words of an equally famous Long Islander - Billy Joel: "Only the good die young".
Rest easy son, brother, husband and dad.
