David Vincent Schroeder

On November 5, 2025, in Los Angeles, our beloved David Vincent Schroeder left us to be with the Lord. For the last three decades, David was a gracious, positive, engaging presence at Barker family gatherings – birthdays, Easters, Thanksgivings, and Christmas’.

David was born in Mexico City on May 29, 1940 to Evelyn Ewing and Fernando Schroeder. At age 3 or 4, he and his mother moved to New Orleans. He attended LSU, then had an acting career that spanned 50 years in American and Mexican film and TV productions. He was an active member of the Screen Actor’s Guild and his relatives could always count on him for a good movie recommendation.

He married Mabel Barker in 1989. David and Mabel shared a passion for travel to such varied destinations as Japan, India, China, Mexico, and Russia.

In accordance with David’s wishes, his ashes were scattered at sea. David will be missed by family and friends. May he rest in peace.
