Chuck is missed dearly. Chuck and I were best friends growing up. Chuck is also the God father of my oldest son. I am so surprised to hear of his passing. My heartfelt condolences to the family and his friends. God bless you Chuck.

I am so thankful for all the years we had together.  Having 3 brother's was always full of laughs growing up.  I so enjoyed all the talks Chuck and I had when I lived at the lake.  I would be sitting on the dock and he would give me a call and we would talk for a couple hours.  I will always remember his call the night before he went to be with the Lord.  We prayed together with Ed and laughed and he told me if it is my time to go to be with the Lord then he was ready as he would be with mom and Jim and his other brothers and loved ones.  I was the one saying no you're way to young and prayed he would live a long life.  God had other plans as he was ready and God always has for each of us an appointed time to be with Him and from our talk Chuck felt it was that time.  I am very blessed to have had all my brothers love and blessed to be their sister.  I know we will meet again and none of us knows the day but I too am ready whenever God calls me home.  Chuck brought so much love into Ed's life also.  Ed loved driving out to his house and having coffee with him.  I feel very, very blessed and thankful for so many memories.

So sorry for your loss Aunt Debbie.  My thoughts and prayers are with you always!  ❤

Such a sweet, gentle soul. I always loved your sense of humor and how real you were. I often found myself thinking what would Chuck say? You always had a way of making things seem so much easier in such a confusing world. Thank you for loving my mom and sister. May you Rest In Peace.

I remember all the times when we went to the beach and when I went to your house. Every time I went to your house it would be full of adventures and fun. Also when we would go to the beach and we would collect sea shells and crabs. I think the last thing we did together was go to the beach. Well rest in peace and let ur soul live on.

Charles, Thank you for the greatest gifts I could ever receive... our children Charlie and Juanita. I was fortunate to share your love, humor, adventures, fun times and music. We definitely lived in the moment, thank you for the most fun times in my life!

Oh how I wish I would have gotten to know you better little brother. I do know you took such good care of my sister, and all my family in California. They all adore you. Thank you for being the sweet loving man you are. From now on when I hear Free Bird I'll think of you.

Chuck was a good neighbor.  I'd always see him working in the yard and hear the distant sound of him playing his drums in his soundproof garage. Now, whenever I hear a really good drum solo, I'll think of Chuck.

Dear brother Chuckles, I will always remember how you made me feel, loved and accepted. I grieve your loss but know that we will meet again. Fly Chuckles...Give my Tommy a hug.. RIP.

From the first time I met Chuck, he was always so friendly. He gave the best hugs and a good joke and a hearty laugh.

There are no words that express the special bond I had with my father. Whenever I spoke about my dad to my friends, I always did with as much pride as one could because my dad inspired me in so many different ways. I was so proud of him and even more proud to have him as a father. I'll miss listening to his drum playing more than anything, but know that he now lives through me...from one musician to another...thank you, dad...for helping me become the man I am today.

Although many miles across the U.S. did not allow me to get to know Chuck in a personal way, just knowing his quiet spirit & tender love for my sister, Debra, allowed Chuck to be a part of our family.  May his lovable memory live on through his children and friends, so as none of us forget what a kind & sensitive person he was.  Chuck always had a warm heart & welcoming smile when I would visit, and I know he loved Debra deeply.  Rest in peace Chuck.

I met Chuck in 1994, we married after a 10 year romance on 10/09/2004.  We've shared so many memories & his presence was a daily comfort to me.  He made me laugh too, always teasing!  He was the romantic & celebrated days like the first day of Spring, or Autumn.  Valentine's Day is fast approaching & that was the day he loved the most, he spoiled me & I loved it.  Not a day goes by when I don't miss him, the peaceful comfort we shared for 22+ years has been my most precious gift.  Now he's gone, & I'm trying to learn to survive without him - each day is a new test with it's highs & lows, there is no choice but to give it my best & hope that someday this thick, heavy cloud of grief will lift & I can be joyous again.  The joyous, happy me that Chuck fell in love with all those years ago.  In the meantime, I will give thanks for the years we had together & rejoice in the sweet, gentle spirit that I know & feel every day.  I can't turn off this love I feel & thank God for giving me this love that all dream yet so few attain.  Sweet, peaceful rest to you My Husband.

Charles Chuck Paling passed away on December 18th, 2016 after respiratory failure. Though the loss was sudden we are comforted knowing that he is re-united with his mother and father, Dorothy Knauss and Bert Chase Paling. He also joins his two beloved brothers, Al and Tommy.

 Chuck is survived by his wife, Debra Varner Paling, and children: Charlie, Juanita, Shayna and Jennifer. He also leaves behind his adored granddaughter Angelina Paiz. Chuck will also be missed by his two surviving sisters, Gail Ware and Jolene Goraleski and their beautiful families.
