A longtime Los Angeles resident, Barbara was known by all her friends here as Nadine. She was an active member of the Griffith Park Adult Community Club and the founder of Paint Buddies. The group spent many Wednesdays painting in the park. In her youth, Barbara Nadine attended the Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River and graduated from Lincoln School for Girls in Providence. She absolutely loved Elvis! She was an animal lover and avid horseback rider. Continuing her education, she graduated from Elmira College in New York in computer science and was author of the Photographer’s Computer Handbook. Nadine was a self-made woman. She travelled extensively, creating Photo Traveler, a guide to select locations for both amateur and professional photographers. It was in her nature to be ever enthusiastic about a new project whether in art, literature, gardening or music. Her tenacious energy and enthusiasm touched many lives, and from all who knew her she will be truly missed. Her sister Elizabeth Falderbaum of RI, niece Alix Gifford, and nephew Nicklaus survives her.
A memorial will be held at a future date.
