Michael Niles

Michael Arthur Niles (the gentle giant) a resident of Novato, passed away at the age of 62 on September 13, 2026. Mike was raised in Santa Rosa, CA graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1982 and then received his degree at Santa rosa Junior College in 1984, all of which were enormous accomplishments since Mike was a special needs person. Mike had a most difficult and physically painful life, yet he always remained appreciated for the care provided and grateful for his life (a remarkable task given his circumstances). Mike loved his family and friends, which was displayed by his kindness, humor, and generosity.

Mike’s hobbies included watching WWE wrestling, cooking shows, and cheering for the 49ers. Mike had a studious mind and always read the instructions first before assembly. He is survived by his beloved sisters and his devoted dog, Mr. Tums. He was a man of enormous strength with great faith in God. Mike leaves behind his four sisters and their husbands: Kathy and Gary Cooper, Billie Jean and Sandy Magid, Bobbie and Dick Edmundson, Debbie, and Randy Gilbreath.

Also survived by five nieces: Cassy, Jessica, Samantha, Nancy Jean, Isabelle, Katherine; three nephews: William, Cory, Nathan; two uncles: Larry and Josh; One Aunt: Jane; and one sister-in-law: Patty.
