

Ms. Vitale had a Ph.D. in Psychology Studies from the University of California, San Diego. She was a practicing psychologist up until the last week of her life, specializing in Gender Identity Issues. She was a regular speaker on the history, challenges and issues around gender identity; presenting to corporate and government agencies and giving interviews on TV and numerous publications.
She moved to the Pt Reyes Station area in the 70s, and enjoyed her psychology practice, painting, and fly fishing. She was beloved in the community, having given back as an early supporter of the medical clinic, a food pantry and pro bono work regarding transgender counselling.
She had been married in the early 1960s and is a parent of two children, one of whom was present at her passing. She is survived by her sister, her son, her daughter, 5 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.
The family welcomes memorial donations to By the Bay Health, Marin County in honor of Anne M. Vitale and as a thank you for all their help during Anne’s final days.
