Ronald, being the hard-working man that he was, went on to work 15 more years as a Corrections Deputy for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department; retiring in 1998. In total, Ronald’s career in law enforcement spanned more than 40 years. Ronald was always willing to help those in need. Integrity meant everything to him. He was a wonderful husband, a great father (who raised two good families) and a great friend. Ronald loved sports, especially his Denver Broncos, was an avid reader, loved his classical and jazz music, cooking, and gardening was one of his favorite hobbies. Ronald loved to travel. He especially loved to drive every chance he got. He always said he had, "the need for speed.” He was one of the smartest men I've ever known. Ask him almost anything and he would have an answer. Ronald was a strong man in his faith and enjoyed being at church. He will be remembered as a kind and generous spirit who was deeply loved. He will be greatly missed.
