Rhea was born September 16th, 1921 in Medford Oregon. She moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1946.
Rhea married Bruce Hudson, a musician who played for a number of orchestras as well as the studios in Hollywood. They lived in Glendale, California, where Rhea was very active in the Oakmont Country Club Women’s Golf Association, winning the women’s Club Championship 8 times. Her playing partner was often Delores Hope.
They moved to Camarillo in the early 1970’s and enjoyed an active life at Las Posas Country Club. Rhea golfed with the Ladies Association and won the Championship in 1974 and 1981. She had a career 9 holes in one.
Bruce passed away in 1988. She married Max Kistler in June, 1997 in Paris. Rhea and Max had a passion for travel and played golf whenever possible while on those trips. They enjoyed sharing their time with their many friends.
Rhea had many hobbies and interests. She was a great gardener, loved playing bridge and painting. Rhea and Max were very involved with the Las Posas Country Club and Ventura Dance Club.
Her love of Max, life and friends sustained her through her many years. Rhea will be missed by so many. Many thanks to Kelly and Mary Stark, Don and Sharon Brubaker for their friendship and loving care. Her wonderful and loving care givers Wilma Raphael, Joyce Yumul, Joy Abraham, Pearlie Abraham and Janice Recasa. Ginny Powell for keeping Rhea beautiful as always, and Pam Brady for her devoted physical therapy and exercise care. Livingston Hospice for their excellent care. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Las Posas Country Club where Max and Rhea were given extra special care when dining at the Club. Doctor Stokols has been wonderful in taking care of both Max and Rhea all these years.
