Joe passed away at his home in Goleta, California, on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the age of 92.
Born in 1934 in the state of Puebla, Mexico, Joe knew from an early age that he did not want to live a rural farm life in Mexico. In 1955, after serving in the Mexican army, he emigrated to the New York City area where he met his future, Roselies.
He became a U.S. citizen in 1962. Joe and Roselies moved their family from New Jersey to Goleta in 1978 where he remained for the rest of his life. Joe often spoke of how fortunate he was to have found Goleta.
He enjoyed a lifelong career as a precision machinist and truly loved his work. His hobbies included watching professional wrestling, particularly in its early years, and boxing, listening to traditional mariachi music, playing golf with his buddies, and traveling with his wife, visiting many places in the United States and around the world.
He is survived by Roselies, his wife of 68 years, and his five children, Nancy, Edward, Patricia, Richard and Joseph Jr.
May he rest in peace.
