A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
John Little was born November 29th, 1934 in Northumberland, England. He died on June 26th, 2022 in Camarillo, California. John attended Corpus Christi school in Gateshead where he excelled in sports. He was a life-long Newcastle United football fan, attending every home game for many years during his childhood. He was an avid golfer, a sport he took up upon retirement, and always preferred the exercise of walking the course. An avid wine lover, John enjoyed discussing the finer points of Central Coast Pinot Noirs with friends and family. John served as an apprentice at Vickers Armstrong, and was paid the handsome sum of £1 per week; a fact he was proud to tell anyone who was interested. He played rugby and cricket for North Durham. John graduated from Durham University with a degree in engineering. A successful career in hydraulics with several companies ensued. One of these opportunities brought the family to the United States in 1976. John’s career peaked when he became President of Lincoln Engineering in St. Louis a position from which he retired in 1997. In 1958 he married Moyra Watson. He loved to travel the world with Moyra; especially trips home to England, wine tours of the US and Spain, and excursions with friends to other European destinations. John is survived by wife Moyra (nee Watson), sister Monica, four children: Simon, Martin, Claire Ashley and Andrea Stump, and four grandchildren Nicholas Stump, Liam Little, Isabel Little and Ryan Stump.
