Dale Werre went home to the Lord on April 21, 2023. He was born on April 8, 1953, to Allen and Betty Werre in Yakima, Washington. Growing up on an orchard in Selah, WA, Dale arose at 3 a.m. to help his father light smudge pots, and when the fruit was overripe, he enjoyed many plum throwing fights with his friends. Playing pranks on his three sisters was a favorite pastime. After graduating from Selah High School in 1971, Dale entered the U.S. Army, where he studied radio electronics. He continued his electronics education at Yakima Valley Community College and the University of Washington, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Dale moved to Southern California in the Spring of 1982, to join the technical staff at Hughes Aircraft Company, Missile Systems Group, in Canoga Park. Two years later, he met his wife, Roberta Hubbarth, in the jacuzzi of the townhouse complex where they both lived. A recent graduate of Pepperdine University, Roberta was also employed by Hughes Aircraft Co. After a small wedding in Maui, Dale and Roberta settled in Simi Valley, CA. They were blessed with three children, and Dale was frequently involved in their activities. He left Hughes Aircraft in the Fall of 1992 to pursue a career in Medical Electronics at Siemens Pacesetter, in Sylmar. He retired from the company, then known as St. Jude Medical, in 2016. Cruising, hiking the hills of Rocky Peak Park, playing Five Crowns, and watching original Perry Mason episodes were his favorite retirement activities. His kind heart and sense of humor will be missed. Dale is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Roberta; mother Betty Werre of Yakima, Washington; daughter Linda Gilreath (Brian) of Simi Valley; son Douglas Werre of San Diego; son David Werre (Nancy) of Agoura Hills; grandson James Gilreath of Simi Valley, and sisters Alana Hudson (Ben), Karen Hurd (Stuart), and Brenda Gudmunson (Mark). A memorial service will be held May 13 at 2 p.m., at the Simi Valley Church of Christ, 1554 Sinaloa Ave, Simi Valley, Ca. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ventura County Food Share Program, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
